For the majority of listeners, however the most significant upgrade is the improved noise cancellation and audio quality. In our tests the PX7 S2 eliminated nearly all of our simulated cabin noise with remarkable effectiveness, and they excelled when we performed Mozart's Et In Carnatus Est and Sanctus from his Grosse Messe, demonstrating excellent insight into the shifting dynamics between the solo voice, wind trio and orchestral accompaniment.

The Bathys look gorgeous with their sleek black finish and swooping curves reminiscent of Focal's premium open-back Elear and closed-back Celestee headphones. The Bathys are built with premium materials like aluminum and bt headphones wireless magnesium, which make them feel durable and comfortable. They're also worth the price.
In Bluetooth mode, the Bathys deliver a crisp and lively sound quality that easily beats similar priced consumer ANC options such as the Bose QC45. They can be pushed even further by using direct DAC audio mode, making them a great choice for true hi-fi listeners.
The Focal &Naim app allows users to adjust the playback controls of the headphone wireless and Bluetooth pairing preferences. The app allows users to select between silent and soft intensities for ANC. Users can also alter the brightness of the LEDs on the earcups of the wiresless headphones, and alter the EQ settings. The app isn't complete however it provides enough functionality to warrant the cost of downloading.
The only issue is that the active noise cancellation doesn't live up to the competition. The headphone doesn't eliminate all background noise as effectively as the highly rated XM5 and AirPods Max. Its treble accuracy also falls short, with a muddy mid-to-high range that takes away from vocals and instruments.

The Bathys are best used at home for long listening sessions, or as an audio reference headset for sound engineering.
