The Sennheiser Momentum 4s feature excellent ANC, a convenient app, and easy control via the ear. Its default sound delivers an intense thump, however instruments and vocals can be pushed to the background.
1. Sony WH-1000XM5
The Sony WH-1000XM5 is an excellent pair of headphones for those who love music and want the best wireless headset. They are light and have a soft carrying bag and can be folded flat to fit into your bag. The touch controls are intuitive and easy to use and the battery will last for 30 hours without ANC. The headphones bluetooth come with an automatic pause feature which shuts them off when you remove them from your head. This helps in conserving battery.
The WH1000XM5 is compatible with Sony Headphones Connect, which includes a range of features that can be used to personalize the audio experience. The app can be used to track your location and adjust the ambient sound effects based on your surroundings. The microphone is also built in for hands-free calling. The Sony WH1000XM5 can be used with music streaming via Bluetooth or via an electrical connection via the cable included. They support aptX codecs, aptX HD codecs as well as adaptive codecs that provide high-quality audio through bluetooth headphones bluetooth.
Like the XM4, the WH1000XM5 is light and comfortable with a well-padded headband and ear cups. They're easy to wear for long periods and are comfortable enough for commutes as well as longer flights. They're noise-cancelling headphones that reduce background noise without compromising clarity or clarity. The Sony WH1000XM5 has decent bass for a pair of closed back headphones and they offer an excellent soundstage with an excellent separation of instruments and vocals.
The low latency is a major plus. The lag is so small that it's almost imperceptible and they can be used for casual gaming. These are not the best for gaming in a competitive manner however they're perfect for those who want to utilize them for entertainment or for making hands-free calls.
Sony is committed to infusing smart features into their products and the WH1000XM5 is not a different. The active noise cancellation is among the best I've tried and they include a whole suite of smart functions to enhance the overall listening experience. They also have Sony's DSEE Extreme engine which upscales compressed music to close to high quality. They also work with Sony's LDAC technology which streams higher-bitrate audio over Bluetooth (although not as hi-res as the headphone DAC that's dedicated).
2. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2
Bowers & Wilkins flagship headphones, the PX7 S2 have always been on the top lists of wireless headsets since the release of the first-generation PX7 in 2015. This puts them in the same class as Sony WH1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort. Its newest model, the PX7 S2, is an upgrade that takes the initial blue tooth headphones to a higher level, with better ANC performance and a new design.
In the earcups, bio cellulose 40mm drivers are bent to point straight at your eardrums to deliver an audio experience that is more intimate than most closed-back headphones. The PX7 S2 is a perfect example of this claim with a fervent zeal. The vocals are clear, and the bass is deep when it's needed.
The PX7 S2 also performs very well when it comes to voice calls, with a crisp and clear sound that doesn't muddle your own voice. They also provide a fast charge that can get you back fully charged in only two hours. Furthermore, they're compatible with high-resolution audio, due to an adaptive Bluetooth codec that allows them to play music with 24-bit resolution.
The noise-canceling technology and the improved audio performance are among the most important improvements for the majority of listeners. In our tests the PX7 S2 eliminated nearly all of our simulated aircraft cabin noise with impressive efficiency, and they excelled when we played Mozart's Et In Carnatus Est and Sanctus from his Grosse Messe, demonstrating excellent insight into the shifting dynamics between the solo voice, wind trio and orchestral accompaniment.

They're also extremely durable, with a premium-feeling and durably-built construction that should last for years of continuous usage.
Of course they're not perfect. The clamp force of the models we tested were a bit more than we'd prefer and they didn't have as many app features as other options. However, these aren't major complaints. 3. Focal Bathys Wireless
Focal Bathys is the ideal option for audiophiles who appreciate high-quality sound and are in search of headphones that can be used wirelessly to block out noise. The Focal Bathys were the first ANC headphones made by an French audio company that utilizes Bluetooth. They provide incredible sound both in Bluetooth mode and when connected via USB to a device for true hi-fi listeners with a maximum of 24 bit/192kHz.
The Bathys are stunning, with their glossy black finish and swooping curves reminiscent of Focal's premium open-back Elear and closed-back Celestee headphones. The Bathys are constructed of premium materials like aluminum and magnesium, which make them feel sturdy, comfortable, and well worth the cost.
The Bathys Bluetooth headphones deliver crisp, [Redirect-302] vibrant sound signature. They easily outperform consumer ANC models of the same price like the Sony XM5/5 and Bose QC45. They can be enhanced further with direct DAC audio mode which makes them an excellent choice for serious hi-fi enthusiasts.
The Focal and Naim app allows users to adjust the headphone's playback controls and Bluetooth pairing preferences. You can select between silent or soft intensities for ANC as well as adjust the brightness of the LEDs on the ear cups, and adjust the settings for EQ. The app is bare but offers enough functionality to warrant its purchase.
The only drawback is the active noise cancellation, which isn't able to live up to the quality of the competition. The headphone doesn't block out all the background noise like the top-rated XM5 or AirPods Max, and its quality of treble isn't as good, with a muddy mid to high range that detracts from vocals and instruments.
The Focal Bathys headphones aren't particularly transportable. Their earcups don't fold up and they weigh slightly more than their counterparts, which means that they're not suitable for use on the road. They're more suited to in a home setting where they can be used for lengthy listening sessions or as a reference headphone for sound engineering purposes. Despite their size and weight, the Bathys are actually comfortable to wear for prolonged durations of time.
4. Sony WH-CH720N
The Sony WH-CH720N are excellent wireless over-ear headphones for the price. They have a solid noise-cancelling system that does an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise, which makes them great for those who commute or travel. Their matte finish and durable construction give them a touch of high-end quality.
They look similar to Sony's 1000X and XB910N headphone models. They feature a slim plastic headband with the usual ear cups hinges. They are lightweight and comfortable, however they feel a bit too compressed to my liking. They come with a USB-C charge port, 3.5mm jack and a decent-length cable included in the box. They are multipoint Bluetooth which means that you can connect to two devices at once should you wish to.
In my tests the CH720N's hybrid tech for noise cancellation did a fantastic job of reducing ambient sound. There were only a few glitches while walking around Waterloo Station and London Victoria. The sound-silencers didn't zap every sound in the vicinity, but they did struggle with lower frequency sounds like the rumbling engine sounds of trains and buses.
The CH720N's Bluetooth connection worked smoothly and displayed a minimal harmonic distortion. I tried a range of genres and found they were able to handle the intricate interplay between instruments quite well. It did an excellent job of controlling the bass in rock tracks, and keeping the mix focused.
I like the ability to adjust the Sony Headphones Connect app to tailor the CH720N's ANC and multipoint connectivity settings to your preference, as well as add a variety of audio presets. You can also use the app to activate DSEE which can boost the quality of compressed content and enhances its sound quality.
The WH-CH720N isn't equipped with some of Sony's primetime functions compared to the XM5 (such as Speak-to-Chat and Quick Attention) they do come with a solid feature set for PS130. 360 Reality Audio, smart controls and the DSEE upscaling are all present. The only thing missing is LDAC Bluetooth high-res audio support I believe it would have been a great inclusion.
